SCHOLARSHIPS BEING OFFERED THROUGH THE CASTRO VALLEY EDUCATIONAL FOUNDATION:

1. $500 Charles Schwab & Co. Scholarship
For a student who has lettered in one or more sports, having a GPA of 3.75 or higher, and will be attending a 2 or 4-year college in Fall 2008.

2. $500 Charles Schwab & Co. Scholarship
For a student who has participated in Business/Economics-related coursework, has displayed leadership, having a GPA of 3.75 or higher, and will be attending a 2 or 4-year college in Fall 2008.

3. $500 Dr Joshua Fong Memorial Scholarship 
For a student of Chinese descent, with a GPA between 3.0 and 3.7, who will be attending a 2 or 4-year college in Fall 2008. The intent is to give this scholarship to a student who will not be receiving many other scholarships.
[Note: In the absence of any applicant of Chinese descent, this scholarship can be given to an applicant of Asian descent]

4. $500 Dr Joshua Fong Memorial Scholarship* 
Same criteria as #3.

5. $500 Castro Valley Optometry Group Scholarship
For a student who has shown outstanding effort in community service, and who will be attending a 2 or 4-year college in Fall 2008.

6. $500 Sampson Realty/Prime Share Pacific Mortgage Scholarship
For a student intending to study business, finance or real estate.
Must promise to take at least one real estate course during college studies.
Planning on attending a 2 or 4 year college in Fall 2008.

7. $500 Charles Duerig Memorial Scholarship* 
Open to any senior student who will be attending college in Fall 2008. We will consider a combination of academics, major and career interest, college attending, extracurricular activities, and participation in athletics. 

8. $500 Castro Valley Educational Foundation Scholarship* 
For a student intending to go into teaching, who has a GPA of 3.0 or higher, and will attend a 2 or 4-year college in Fall 2008.

9. $500 Castro Valley Educational Foundation Scholarship*
For a student who has a GPA of 3.00 or higher, who has demonstrated leadership in education, and who has maximized his/her own educational opportunities as demonstrated by exemplary achievement in a particular field (i.e., the arts, science, mathematics, language arts, social science, technology, vocational education, athletics, etc.).

* Scholarships with this symbol will have recipient selected by donors.
