Excellence in Education Scholarship 2003-2004

The Castro Valley Educational Foundation (CVEF) Scholarship Program will offer two (2) Excellence in Education scholarships in the amount of $500 each to acknowledge the achievements of high school seniors who have demonstrated leadership in the promotion of excellence in education. 

Scholarship funds are available to high school seniors graduating between January 1, 2004 and June 30, 2004 from Castro Valley High School and Redwood High School in Castro Valley, California. Scholarship is to be used during their first semester/quarter at an accredited college, university or vocational school.

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA 

  1. The student must have a GPA of 3.00 or above. 
  2. The student must have demonstrated leadership in education 
  3. The student must have maximized his/her own educational opportunities as demonstrated by exemplary achievement in a particular field (i.e., the arts, science, mathematics, language arts, social science, technology, vocational education, athletics, etc.)

APPLICATION AND DEADLINE 

Application packets (including two reference forms) may be obtained from the Counselor's Office at Castro Valley High School, or at the Main Office, Redwood High School. Completed reference forms should be given to applicant in a sealed envelope. References must be written specifically for this scholarship application. Please do not submit more than the requested two (2) references. 

The following must be received at the Main Office, Castro Valley High School, on or before 12:00 Noon on Monday, May 10, 2004:

Applications received after deadline date or without all of the required materials will not be considered.

SELECTION 

The CVEF Scholarship Committee will select recipients and notify all applicants of their standing prior to May 28, 2004. Recipients must attend an accredited college, university or vocational school as a full-time student (12 units or more). Upon verification of acceptance and/or enrollment, a check for the scholarship will be sent directly to the recipients.
