Detailed Description of this Session:
Demonstration of an artificial muscle actuator. By applying electrical voltage , I will demonstrate the bending movement of the actuator. I will also give a talk on artificial muscles and the future of the technology and potential applications.

About Nikhil Bhat:
Nikhil has focused his work on developing applications for smart materials and developing algorithms to control them. He is presently involved with medical device industry where he has developed smart material actuators and sensors for medical applications. Before medical devices,Nikhil worked in the automotive industry developed control algorithms for automotive systems.Nikhil has1 issued patent and more than 10 patents pending. He has published more than 8 technical papers in international journals and conferences focusing on smart materials and control systems.
