Stephen A. Payne, Ph.D.

Detailed Description of this session:

In the Exhibit Hall, Dr. Payne will demonstrate radioactivity in household items such as radioactive pottery using a geiger counter to measure radiation that is commonly found in our homes and environment.

About Stephen A. Payne:

Dr. Payne currently works as a Physicist at Lawrence Livermore National Labs. He has over 120 scientific papers and 25 patents. He is a Fellow of Optical Society of America. Dr. Payne has won the Fusion Engineering Award and received five R&D 100 Awards. His area of expertise are materials, optics, and radiation physics.
